Stay woke and don’t let these awful 'groups' keep on operating. They’ve even taken the step of turning off comments on their TikToks, which just proves they’re not owning up to their actions. It’s about time they step up and try to do better. That’s all I gotta say.

I really don’t get why Autism Speaks, a nonprofit from the States that mainly helps folks in the US, is popping up on a UK trust pilot site. It seems to draw in folks who aren’t autism experts and families who might feel a bit jealous of the good stuff happening in the US thanks to the IDEA and ADA laws. These laws guarantee that every kid from birth to 22 gets free access to public education, which includes therapies, social skills groups, diagnostic evaluations, and even private schooling if needed. Sadly, the UK is way behind the US when it comes to special needs education and support. They often go for a cradle-to-grave care model, which can lead to kids being placed in unsuitable home and school environments, really affecting their quality of life. It’s tough to watch people in the UK knock US nonprofits like Autism Speaks while they’re reaping the benefits of their fundraising. Autism Speaks has helped fund summer camps, autism movement therapies, dance and music therapies, plus scholarships for parents to learn how to better their kids' lives. They also work on spotting immunological issues that can impact those on the autism spectrum. It’s key to mention that Autism Speaks doesn’t say they have a “cure” for autism, and you won’t find that in their mission statement or on their website. As a parent whose child has gained from their scholarships and intensive support, I can vouch for the positive changes they’ve made. My child, who was nonverbal and severely autistic back in the US, got early help with speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and even horse therapy. Because of all that, he’s now a university student at a well-known UK university, has a girlfriend, and even drives! For those who don’t have American experience, haven’t dealt with Autism Speaks, or don’t fully grasp autism as a neuropsychobiological communication disorder, I really encourage you to do some digging and hold off on the uninformed critiques.

If you know about this company and Paula Breeden, who runs the show, I really suggest you reconsider before putting your kids in her hands. In my view, Paula Breeden seems more focused on cashing in than on truly helping children with ASD. At the end of the day, the choice is yours, but I’d say you’d be better off enrolling your kids with UCF CARD in Orlando. You’ll save a good chunk of change and get way better services.

The company I mentioned actually sent people to my house who crossed boundaries and acted really unprofessionally. I firmly think folks shouldn’t be hushed when they talk about their experiences with ABA professionals, especially since these are the people we let into our homes.

On top of that, I took it upon myself to look into how this company spends its money and compared it to what they say they give to help families with autistic kids. To my dismay, the actual support they provide is way less than what they claim.
